I am a writer, living and working in Metropolitan Detroit, Michigan. I'm waiting on that big score with movie rights. In the meantime, I get by. In addition to writing books and stories, I also write games, but I wouldn't turn down a nice teaching gig. I also keep a little blog. It's getting popular.

I was born in the country, but I consider Detroit my home and my muse. I love this city, the culture, the people, and yes, even the miserable cold damp gloomy weather and cripplingly depressed economy. I lived in the desert for three years and had quite enough of it, thank you very much. There's something wholesome and inspiring about the smell of petrichor and the lush greenness of summer here that keeps me coming proudly back.

I am a graduate of Warren Cousino High School. I tried going to college for a while, got really drunk, hated it, had a career, hated that, and then went back to finish up my BA at Wayne State University, and then I went on to earn an MFA from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas - Yes, you might say that I went to college for this.

When I'm not working or writing, I enjoy travel and miniature war gaming. I've been to Europe and Israel, seen a whole lot of the continental US, and some of the more interesting parts of Eastern Canada - not bad for someone who is essentially poverty- stricken. The miniature war gaming is also shorthand for role-play. I enjoy Warhammer 40k, Dungeons and Dragons, Classic Battletech, and many board games equally. I intend to release my own role playing game this year.

This is an expanded version of the bio I send out to publishers and social networking sites, but slightly more personal, and significantly expanded.
